Minutes after he suffered a gruesome arm injury inside the cage at UFC 323, Alexandre Pantoja released a statement on his social media, albeit brief, assuring fans that he’s at least (relatively) OK.
Pantoja lost his title in 26 seconds Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas when he fell awkwardly on his left arm, causing a visible snapping of something internally.

“I’ve been through worse,” Pantoja wrote on Instagram. “I’ll come back even stronger, you can be sure of that. Thank you for the messages.”
Pantoja was seen apologizing to UFC CEO Dana White and fans, as he clutched his arm, exited the cage and walked down the runway.
As a result of Pantoja’s injury, Joshua Van won by first-round TKO and became the new UFC flyweight champion.
