Heading into the start of the 2025 WNBA season, one of the teams fans are buzzing about is the Indiana Fever. The Fever are beginning their 26th season in the WNBA, and hopes have never been higher.
Following a trip to the WNBA playoffs last season, the Fever appear ready to take the next step under head coach Stephanie White. The postseason appearance was the franchise’s first since 2016. Now, Indiana is aiming for its second-ever WNBA title — its last came back in 2012 when the Fever topped the Minnesota Lynx in the finals.

No surprise, Caitlin Clark is the big story heading into the new season. The former Iowa Hawkeyes star, who led her team to two NCAA Tournament title games, was the No. 1 pick in the 2024 WNBA draft and delivered in a big way, winning Rookie of the Year honors and bringing a new wave of attention to the league.
Her teammates have noticed her growth, too, especially physically.
At Fever Media Day, Aliyah Boston was asked about Clark’s readiness for her second year and didn’t hesitate to mention how much stronger she looked.
“I feel like everyone talks about it. I’ll see it on social media; they’ll be like Caitlin has such strong muscles,” Boston said. “And don’t tell her I said that. Don’t even mention that.”
Back in March, a viral photo of Clark, sparked plenty of conversation online about her build and strength. When asked about it on Monday, Clark acknowledged the work she has put in during the offseason.

“That was my biggest focus in the offseason — just trying to get stronger and really working on that,” Clark said.
Her added strength could be a major factor for Indiana, especially as defenses key in on her even more this season.

The Fever will open their 2025 campaign with three preseason games. First up, they’ll host the Washington Mystics on Saturday. The very next day, they’re heading to Iowa City, Clark’s old stomping grounds, to take on the Brazilian National Team. The final preseason game is scheduled for May 10 in Atlanta.
Then it’s go time. Indiana tips off the regular season on May 17 in what’s sure to be a can’t-miss showdown against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky.
