Aljamain Sterling disagreed with the judges’ scorecards for the UFC London main event.
Movsar Evloev (20-0 MMA, 10-0 UFC) overcame a point deduction to beat Lerone Murphy by majority decision at UFC Fight Night 270 Saturday at The O2.

Featherweight contender Sterling (20-5 MMA, 17-5 UFC) sees no way Evloev could have been awarded the decision after two inadvertent low blows cost him a point.
“I have NO idea how to score fights anymore because WTF??? Point deduction and he still won?? I had this fight 2-2 based on what I was seeing. Wild. Just get in shape fellas and let the chips land where they fall. Congrats to both Murphy and Evloev. Technical fight.”
None of the 17 media members who submitted scores to MMA Decisions scored the fight in favor of Evloev. Five gave Murphy (17-1-1 MMA, 9-1-1 UFC) the fight, with the remaining 12 ruling it as a draw.
“Easiest draw to score! It’s as if “Russian affliation” means you win every close RD?? This is nonsense. Score the fight properly; effective striking, damage, and duration. How does Movsar win with a point deduction in that main event? Make it make sense! When I win, i will do my best to dominate, and I will be the rightful challenger to the throne. And I will fight ANYONE that feels otherwise. The Night King is coming!”
Sterling watched the fight again to get a better gauge, but he still stands with his opinion.
“Just rewatched the first 3 rounds again. We’re all confused on how scoring works in this sport. It’s still seems more subjective than criteria based. RD1: very close but more activity from Murphy. RD2: close still but Murphy ahead on strikes. RD3: really tight until the last 25 sec where Movsar opens a cut on Murphy. Does that steal the RD?? RD 4&5: Clear for Movsar. Point deduction. This fight is a draw, if RD3 is scored for Movsar.”
Sterling will look to enter the featherweight title picture himself when he takes on Youssef Zalal (18-5-1 MMA, 8-3-1 UFC) in the UFC Fight Night 274 main event on April 25 at the Meta APEX (Paramount+).
