The Buffalo Sabres brought in a handful of new players this offseason. Among them is defenseman Louis Crevier, as they acquired him as part of the trade that sent Bowen Byram to the Chicago Blackhawks.
While Crevier was not the biggest name from this deal, he has the potential to be a very good addition to the Sabres’ roster.

Crevier showed good promise this past season with the Blackhawks. In 78 games with the Original Six club, he set new career highs with seven goals, 18 assists, 25 points, and 124 hits. With numbers like these, he provided a nice mix of offensive production and grit to the Blackhawks’ blueline.
However, when noting that this Crevier’s first truly full season at the NHL level, it is fair to wonder if the 6-foot-8 defenseman can hit another new level. He entered last season with only 56 career games played over his two previous campaigns, so he is very much still in the early stages of his career. Because of this, it would not be surprising if he broke out even further next season now that he is more adjusted to the NHL level.
If Crevier can take another step forward, it would be significant for the Sabres. It will be interesting to see what kind of campaign he can put together for Buffalo from here.
