Alyssa Thomas has established herself as one of the most consistent performers in the WNBA for over a decade. Thomas, 33, is playing in season No. 11 of her WNBA career. After playing 10 seasons for the Connecticut Sun, she was sent to the Phoenix Mercury ahead of the 2025 WNBA season via trade.

Despite her new home, Thomas has maintained her consistency, scoring in double digits in all but two games this season for the Mercury. Thomas even recorded a triple-double earlier this season against the Dallas Wings, continuing to showcase her all-around abilities.

Thomas put forth another monster performance on Sunday, dropping 27 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists during an 88-72 victory over the Washington Mystics.

In the process, Thomas broke WNBA legend, Candace Parker’s record for the most games with at least 20 points, at least 10 rebounds, and at least eight rebounds in WNBA history (6).

Following Thomas’ monster performance, the NBA’s official X account retweeted the WNBA’s historic tweet, “Alyssa Thomas makes history.”

While Thomas has had a tremendous career, finishing in the top-10 in MVP voting four times as well as being named an All-Star six times, surpassing a WNBA legend such as Parker on any list is quite the accomplishment.

Parker was a two-time WNBA MVP, two-time WNBA champion, Rookie of the Year award winner, and one-time Defensive Player of the Year award winner throughout her 16-year career.

Parker isn’t eligible for the Pro Basketball Hall of Fame yet, however, she is expected to be a slam dunk, first-ballot inductee when eligible in 2027.

Thomas’ next chance at WNBA history will come when her third-place Mercury (16-9) take on the Indiana Fever on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. EDT.
