Angel Reese will suit up for the Atlanta Dream in her third WNBA season. Reese was dealt by the Chicago Sky on April 6 in a trade that brought Chicago first-round draft picks in 2027 and 2028. Reese was selected No. 7 overall in the first round of the 2024 WNBA Draft and has already made two All-Star appearances.
Reese has an elite trait in the league with her rebounding. The St. Frances Academy High School graduate led the WNBA in per-game rebounding in her first two seasons, averaging 13.1 in 2024 and 12.6 in 2025. The 6-foot-3 forward increased her scoring last season as well, averaging a team-high 14.7 points per game.

Reese will look to integrate her scoring on a roster that includes three-time All-Stars Allisha Gray and Rhyne Howard and four-time All-Star Brionna Jones. On Monday, Reese opened up about her new situation in Atlanta when speaking with reporters during shootaround. In a video posted on X by Yahoo Sports, Reese spoke about how the paint will be more open, her success last season with ISO plays, and how she won’t be expected to take “the shot.”
“Yeah, it feels great. I mean, I can’t believe this is my life,” Reese said. “Like I said earlier, the paint is wide open. I can drive. I had a lot of success last year with ISO plays. So just being able to come down until somebody stops me, everyone is on Lish’ and on Rhye, staying with JC, so it opens up the floor, but also it makes the job easier for me, where I don’t always have to take ‘the shot.’”
