Angel Reese Makes WNBA History in Sky-Sparks Game originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky faced the Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday afternoon in the second game of a four-game road trip. With the Sparks entering the contest at just 5-11, it was a huge opportunity for the Sky to take advantage and pick up their fifth win of the season.

The game remained within reach for both teams all the way through, but a big fourth quarter proved to be the difference for Chicago. The Sky outscored the Sparks, 31-23, in the final frame to seal the 92-85 win.
Reese led the way with a monster game, finishing with 24 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists.
That marked her fourth consecutive game with at least 15 rebounds, which is the longest streak in WNBA history.
That wasn’t the only historic feat from Reese’s performance on Sunday. It was also her third straight double-double of at least 15 points and 15 rebounds, a mark only three other players in WNBA history have reached: A’ja Wilson, Lisa Leslie, and Jonquel Jones.

In just 16 games this season, Reese has already recorded 10 double-doubles. During her rookie year, she totaled 26 and she also led the WNBA in rebounds per game with 13.1.

The 6-foot-3 forward was drafted No. 7 overall by the Sky in 2024 and has already become a rising star in the WNBA. She was named an All-Star last year and is almost a sure lock to be one again this season.
The Sky will look to make it two straight wins for just the second time this year in their next matchup against the Minnesota Lynx. Tip-off is scheduled for next Sunday at 7 p.m. ET.
