Vandersloot was a star basketball player in high school, then eventually played for Gonzaga University from 2007 to 2011. She was widely considered to be one of the top prospects in the 2011 WNBA draft and was picked up by the Sky.
After the 2022 season, the 36-year-old basketball star became a free agent and signed with the New York Liberty in February 2023. She spent two seasons in New York, bringing her veteran leadership and skill to one of the most stacked teams in the league.

The Liberty finished second in the league in 2023, just behind the Las Vegas Aces. A year later, they claimed the top spot, winning the 2024 WNBA Championship with a victory over the Minnesota Lynx.
In 2025, she decided to return to the Sky.
