Angel Reese established herself as one of the top players in the WNBA during her two seasons with the Chicago Sky. Her time with the Sky officially came to an end on Monday after it was announced that Chicago had traded the 23-year-old to the Atlanta Dream.
While there have been indications of Reese’s strained relationship with the Sky front office, the blockbuster trade came out of nowhere. The Sky have stockpiled assets by sending the 6-foot-3 forward to Atlanta in exchange for two future first-round picks.

The Dream, on the other hand, get a bona fide All-Star. They have also acquired one of the biggest names in women’s basketball right now.

The Dream immediately felt the famed Angel Reese effect just hours after the trade. The former LSU Tigers star has one of the biggest followings in the WNBA, and Reese will bring over these fans to Atlanta now that she’s on the move.
Shortly after news of the trade broke, the Dream took to social media to make an announcement. The team announced that Reese’s No. 5 Dream jersey is available for sale.

Reese’s fans wasted no time purchasing Reese’s first piece of merchandise with her new team. The jersey, which retails for $130 each, is now out of stock in the Dream’s official online shop, as of this writing.
The jersey comes in six sizes, from XS to 2XL. All sizes are currently listed as out of stock. Only one colorway of the new jersey, University Red, has been placed on sale thus far.
It is unclear how many new jerseys the Dream had in stock, but they all quickly sold out. This is but a small demonstration of the massive following Reese brings to her new home.
