The Atlanta Dream escaped with a come-from-behind win over the Phoenix Mercury, 82-80, at Gateway Center on Sunday, leaning on an inspired run in the last two minutes.

The Dream went on a 10-0 run to steal the lead, 76-75, led by Rhyne Howard and Jordin Canada. Angel Reese and Allisha Gray then finished off the Mercury with crucial free throws.
NBA legend Julius Erving, who was present at courtside, witnessed Atlanta’s inspired victory.
Reese took a picture with Erving, which was posted by the WNBA on X. It sparked mixed reactions from fans.

Reese, who dropped a strong message after the game, finished with 17 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, four steals, and one block. She struggled from the field, going 6-of-16.
Howard has 21 points and eight rebounds, while Canada has 11 points, seven rebounds, 14 assists, and three steals.

The Dream improved to 4-1. They will go up against the Minnesota Lynx on Thursday.
