Former Arizona State basketball standout Adam Miller has committed to Gonzaga.

That will be his fourth college stop. He started his career close to his home at Illinois, then moved on to LSU. He played for the Sun Devils for the past two seasons, playing in 30 games last season and starting in all of those.

The 6-foot-3 senior guard averaged 9.8 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. He shot 45% from the field and was the team’s most dependable 3-point shooter, hitting 57 of 133 tries (42.9%). He also shot 75.6% from the line.

Miller played against Gonzaga this season as the teams met in a nonconference game in Spokane, but it wasn’t one of Miller’s more memorable games. He went 3-for-10 from the field and 2-for-7 from long distance, scoring eight points.

Miller suffered rib and oblique injuries in the game against Brigham Young on Feb. 26 and struggled the rest of the season, missing two games and playing only the first few seconds of the final game of the season against Arizona.

His best game of the season was a 22-point showing in a double-overtime loss to Texas Tech on Feb. 12.

Miller played in 23 games, starting in 21 of those in the 2023-24 season. He averaged 12 points and 3-2 rebounds with a best of 20 points coming in nonconference play against TCU in Fort Worth. That was the first game in which he played.

Arizona State Sun Devils guard Adam Miller (44) shoots the ball against Gonzaga Bulldogs guard Khalif Battle (99) in the first half at McCarthey Athletic Center on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2024.

As a two-time Division I transfer, Miller needed a waiver from the NCAA to be eligible. That was denied. But then the NCAA reversed course and granted multiple-time transfers immediate eligibility. It was that ruling that gave Miller another season.

Most of the departing players have now found landing spots: Jayden Quaintance (Kentucky), Joson Sanon (St. John’s), Shawn Phillips Jr. (Missouri), Amier Ali (Mississippi State), Austin Nunez (UT-San Antonio), Brandon Gardner (Sacramento State) and Brycen Long (Portland State).

Gardner and Long did not play a game last year, while Nunez played only four before going down for the season with a foot injury.
