Arizona State women’s basketball coach Molly Miller took her squad to the NCAA Tournament in her first year as head coach, but she will need to rebuild the roster with three starting players graduating.
Starting guards Gabby Elliott, Marley Washenitz and Last-Tear Poa played their final seasons at ASU. Elliott made up the bulk of ASU’s scoring, but Washenitz and Poa had major roles on offense as well.

The 2026 cycle brings a few changes. The transfer portal opened on April 6, one day after the national championship in Phoenix. The transfer portal is set to close on April 20, but players in the portal can still commit to new schools after that date.
Additionally, players impacted by a head coaching change will now be able to enter the transfer portal during a 15-day period that will open five days after the new head coach is hired or publicly announced. Should a hire not happen or be announced within 30 days of the previous head coach’s departure, a 15-day window will open then as well.
Here is a look at players who are departing the Arizona State program, as well as players coming in. They are listed in alphabetical order.
Players departing
C Timya Grice (RS Fr., 6-5): Grice was one of former coach Natasha Adair’s recruits. Grice redshirted her freshman season in 2024-25 due to an injury and stayed at ASU during the coaching change. She made her collegiate debut on Nov. 8, in a 15-point win over Eastern Washington, finishing with three points and three rebounds in two minutes. She averaged 1.1 points per game in eight appearances.

The guard missed the 2025-26 season after being dismissed by Tennessee on Nov. 2, after facing two legal issues in three months. In her junior season in 2024-25, she averaged 11.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists. Miller said she was excited for Whitehorn’s potential and sees her commitment as a mentorship opportunity.
