Darius Wabbington, a top-25 recruit in the class of 2027 from Arizona, has released his official top six. The programs still in the running are Arizona, Texas, Louisville, Kentucky, North Carolina and Indiana.
He cut his list down to just six schools and has seemingly moved on from other programs that offered him such as Alabama, Baylor, Purdue, USC, and Villanova among others.
Wabbington Is a High-Value Recruit
The 6-foot-11 big man is highly coveted for his uniquely versatile skillset. He showed that off for Sunnyslope High School this past season where he averaged 17.2 points per game, 9.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.0 steals per games. He also shot it efficiently from the field. His ability to pass from the center position is not common and certainly could become a separator for him at the next level.

Wabbington has played against the best of the best so far in his career – Koa Peat, Cameron Williams, the list goes on.
He was also a member of the Team USA’s 2026 FIBA U18 Men’s AmeriCup roster where he averaged 9.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 steals in five games. His shooting ability and passing were on display throughout despite his USA team falling to Canada in the gold medal game.
Wabbington To Visit Some Of His Top Schools
Wabbington currently has visits scheduled with Arizona, Louisville and Texas. He will visit the Cardinals on September 11, then head to Tucson on September 25 before conducting another visit with Texas on October 9.

Arizona’s 2027 Recruiting Class Outlook
It is still early in the process for Tommy Lloyd and Arizona, however Wabbington is the only player currently scheduled for a campus visit at this time. Wabbington is one of three centers currently with offers from Arizona. Cherif Millogo and Kamsi Awaka (brother of former Arizona Wildcat Tobe Awaka) are the other two big men with offers.
Arizona remains involved with another recruit from the state of Arizona, Adan Diggs. Lloyd has also offered NaVorro Bowman Jr. as well as Marcus Spears Jr. who is the number one player in the class.
