The Arkansas swim and dive team picked up where it left off Friday evening and cruised to wins over Miami and Rutgers again on Saturday.
The Razorbacks outlasted the Hurricanes 249-102 and the Scarlet Knights 237-116. Miami beat Rutgers 186-166.
The Razorbacks continued their dominance by placing first in seven out of nine events. Senior Sydney Craft won the 1000 freestyle, junior Tammy Greenwood took first in the 200 backstroke and junior Harriet Rogers won the 100 freestyle. The Razorbacks won both the 200 medley and 200 free relays. Junior Lindy Hunter joined the fun also and won the 100 breaststroke.
“Just a great meet for our entire team, we were the best team in the pool and the most positive on the pool deck,” Arkansas coach Neil Harper said. “Our entire team and staff did a fabulous job, and we had so many season and lifetime bests. It was a great representation of our team, athletic department and university.”
Sophomore diver Majo Sanchez continued her hot start to the season and claimed the 1-meter diving event with a score of 305.65.
“What a great meet for the young ladies, Majo had another great day today,” Arkansas diving coach Abel Sanchez said. “Miami has the NCAA 1-meter champion and Rutgers has a slew of amazing divers. Majo was able to come out on top with some strong consistent dives.”
An NCAA Championships qualifier a season ago, Miami’s Ashlyn Massey picked up Miami’s first individual win on the 100-yard butterfly (52.53) while NCAA champion Chiara Pellacani took second in the 1-meter dive (300.60).
Rutgers’ Ana Hazlehurst finished first in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:01.31. That time marked a seventh place standing on RU’s all-time top-10 list. It marked her second first place finish of the meet overall, as she also won the 400 yard IM on Friday with a time of 4:16.57.
