Here are three things to know about one of the premier running back prospects in recent memory:
Ashton Jeanty: Near record-setting season
In 2024, Jeanty delivered one of the best running back seasons of all-time, rushing for the second most yards in a season since 1956.
The Boise State tailback finished with 2,601 rushing yards, the most since Melvin Gordon totaled 2,587 rushing yards in 2014 for Wisconsin.
Needing 132 yards in the Fiesta Bowl against Penn State to break Barry Sanders’ record of 2,628 rushing yards, Jeanty fell 27 yards short as he rushed for a season-low 104 yards against the Nittany Lions in the College Football Playoff.
Ashton Jeanty: Unforgettable first game
Jeanty had the best performance of his career in the opening game of his junior campaign, where he set career-highs in rushing yards (259) and rushing touchdowns (six) in the Broncos‘ 56-45 win over Georgia Southern last August.

The 21-year-old bruiser totaled an astounding six games with 200+ rushing yards in 2024 en route to being named the first unanimous All-American in the history of Boise State football.
Ashton Jeanty: Maxwell Award winner
Despite losing out to two-way star Travis Hunter for the Heisman trophy, Jeanty didn’t go home empty handed. He was the recipient of the Maxwell Award, which is the annual trophy presented to the best all-around college football player as voted on by media members and NCAA head coaches.
Jeanty’s the first running back to take home the award since Alabama’s Derrick Henry did so in 2014 and only the third RB to win it since the turn of the century, also joining Penn State’s Larry Johnson (2002).
