At this point, it’s same-old, same-old for No. 1 Auburn basketball.
Winners of 14 straight games after a Tuesday beatdown of Oklahoma at Neville Arena, they’ll welcome another top-10 foe at the week’s end, playing No. 6 Florida on Saturday.
Based on the rankings, it matchs what No. 1 Auburn vs. then-No. 6 Tennessee did Jan. 25, giving Neville Arena the highest-ranked matchup in its history. That night, Auburn pulled out the victory in the final minutes of a defensive affair.
The Gators’ Saturday visit will be Auburn’s third-straight weekend matchup with a ranked foe. It skated past the Volunteers and had no problem staving off then-No. 23 Ole Miss in Oxford. But against another top-10 foe, helmed by a former Bruce Pearl assistant, can the Tigers keep up their winning ways?
As the matchup comes into view, here’s everything you need to know about Auburn vs. Florida.
Injury updates: Auburn basketball vs. Florida
While Auburn hasn’t had a player sidelined for about two weeks, Florida is dealing with a significant loss in leading-scorer Walter Clayton Jr.
Clayton injured an ankle late in the first half of the Gators’ 64-44 loss at Tennessee on Feb. 1. He returned in the second half but did not play in Tuesday’s win over Vanderbilt after being listed as a game-time decision.
Florida’s leading scorer, Clayton is averaging 17.4 points a game and a team-high 3.8 assists.

Prediction for Auburn basketball vs. Florida
No. 1 Auburn 96, No. 6 Florida 91: It doesn’t matter if they Gators are winning or losing, they score a lot of points. They average 83.4 points per game overall, and 77.7 against the SEC, fourth-best in the conference.
Auburn, meanwhile, has dropped 90 points on league foes in each of its two previous games.
Having Florida on their home court, and playing with a high-flying offense of late, the Tigers should be able to out-shoot the Gators if their offense continues to show.
