Auburn football may have won its fourth game last Saturday, but the triumph does not boost its stock in USA TODAY Sports’ weekly college football re-rank.
Paul Myerberg of USA TODAY Sports released his weekly re-rank of all 134 FBS teams on Monday and has placed Auburn at No. 92, a one-spot decrease from last week’s rankings despite earning a 48-14 win over ULM. Last week, ULM held the No. 92 spot, trailing Auburn by one slot. The loss pushed the Warhawks down to No. 97.
Utah holds the crown for the biggest drop this week, falling 13 places to No. 61 following its blowout loss to Colorado last Saturday. The biggest riser is New Mexico, whose upset win over Washington State last Saturday pushed them up 16 spots to No. 93.
This week’s opponent, Texas A&M, rose one spot to No. 13 after blowing past New Mexico State last Saturday, 38-3. Auburn’s final two regular-season opponents, Texas A&M and Alabama, are ranked in the top 15 of Myerberg’s rankings, Texas A&M checks in at No. 13 while the Crimson Tide is No. 7.
