Auburn guard Miles Kelly named ‘under the radar’ transfer by ESPN

by

Auburn basketball added guard Miles Kelly from the transfer portal last offseason, a move that will go down as one of the best under Bruce Pearl’s watch.

Kelly is shooting a career-best 41.9% from the field this season for the No. 1 Tigers and has the third-highest three-point percentage among constant players with 39%. He averages 10.9 points per game and always plays a significant role in Auburn’s wins. Despite not receiving much media attention, Kelly has become a fan favorite on the Plains.

ESPN recently included Kelly in its “Men’s college basketball transfer grades for 2024-25” feature. ESPN’s Jeff Borzello placed Kelly in the “under the radar additions” section due to his strong, yet underrated, contributions to Bruce Pearl’s squad.

Kelly was one of the more consistent scorers in the ACC during his previous two seasons at Georgia Tech, but his commitment to Auburn didn’t receive many headlines. He’s been key for the Tigers’ season, however. He’s given Bruce Pearl size and shotmaking on the wings, averaging 10.9 points and shooting 40% from 3.

Kelly has pieced together 14 games this season with double-digit point outputs, including the January 18 win over Georgia, when he scored 13. He will look to replicate, or even exceed, that performance on Saturday when the rematch between Auburn and Georgia takes place at Neville Arena in Auburn. Tipoff between the No. 1 Tigers and the Bulldogs is set for 3 p.m. CT on ESPN.
