Ava De Anda Remains In State With 2026 Verbal To Cal Golden Bears
NEW COMMIT: The University of California, Berkeley has earned another big verbal commitment for its Class of 2026 recruiting from in-state standout Ava de Anda of Riverside, California.
She will join Isabel Wolk as a member of the Golden Bears’ Class of 2029.
Regarding her commitment,

A sprint freestyler, de Anda does her club swimming with Riverside Aquatics Association and last competed at Sacramento Futures where she earned gold in the 50m free and bronze in the 100m free. Last December, she finished third in the 50 free, fourth in the 100 free and sixth in the 200 free at Juniors West.
She currently owns the second fastest 100 free time in the Class of 2026.
Her best times include:
- 100 free – 48.27
- 50 free – 22.44
- 200 free – 1:45.98
- 200 IM – 2:01.61
- 100 fly – 55.30
- 100 back – 56.66
Currently a junior at Riverside Polytechnic High School, de Anda is the reigning 100 free and 200 free CIF State Championship gold medalist. She won those events in best times as a sophomore in May 2024.
2024-25 marks Cal’s first year competing in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Golden Bears won the 2024 Pac-12 title.
