Exeter Chiefs prop Bachuki Tchumbadze has signed a contact extension to keep him at the club until 2028.
The 24-year-old played 28 times in total for Chiefs last season and will link up with fellow Georgia international Nika Abuladze, who is set to return to Sandy Park after spending two years at French side Montpellier.
Tchumbadze played 35 minutes off the bench as Chiefs lost the Prem final against Northampton Saints 26-17 at Twickenham last month.
“My first season has been amazing, getting to a first Prem final as a group,” Tchumbadze told Exeter’s website. , external
“I feel like I’ve learned a lot, and this season has helped me become a better rugby player because I’ve been playing in such a competitive league.”
Director of Rugby Rob Baxter added: “Bachuki has grown through the season, becoming one of our frontline tighthead props as we came towards the end of our campaign.
“For him to already want to lengthen his stay despite being under contract for next year, I think it is fantastic for the continuity we want here at the club.”
