The Wisconsin Badgers are rolling in the 2027 recruiting class, as they’ve been on fire with a strong in-state class. That continued on Wednesday evening when in-state twins Hunter and Reece Mallinger committed to the program, giving them seven total commits in the class.
Both twins are offensive linemen and project to play on the interior. Hunter Mallinger is a 247Sports Composite four-star, ranked as the No. 4 recruit in the state of Wisconsin. Reece, on the other hand, is a three-star and the No. 10 recruit in the state of Wisconsin.

Both players had been targets for the Badgers for a while, and that continued as Wisconsin changed offensive line coaches from AJ Blazek to Eric Mateos this offseason. The Badgers offered Hunter back in June of 2025, while Reece got his offer in January of 2026.
After landing only one recruit from the state of Wisconsin in 2026, the Badgers have really capitalized on the strong 2027 in-state cycle. They have landed seven of the top-10 in-state recruits, according to the 247Sports Composite. An eighth, four-star running back Kingston Allen, is currently crystal balled to the Badgers as well.
More importantly, the Badgers have landed or are trending for six of the top seven in-state recruits. The in-state talent hasn’t been as strong in recent years, which is why Wisconsin hasn’t focused on the area as much, but they’ve still gotten some quality talent, such as Cooper Catalano.
Now, this 2027 class could be a game-changer for the Badgers.
