Another blue-chip quarterback prospect is changing high schools ahead of his senior season this fall.
Luke Babin, a four-star QB committed to Baylor, is transferring from Woodville (Texas) to Barbers Hill (Texas), according to Rivals’ Adam Gorney.

He’s coming off a junior season that witnessed more than 3,000 passing yards and 40 touchdowns to just five interceptions. He also rushed for over 560 yards and an additional seven scores. Woodville went 9-3 in 2025. Babin has over 5,100 passing yards and over 900 rushing yards to his name across the last two seasons.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder now heads to a Barbers Hill program that enters the 2026 season as the No. 83 team in Texas, according to the Massey Ratings. The Eagles went 10-4, winning three playoff games in Class 5A-D1 last season.
Babin won’t be the only blue-chipper on the Barbers Hill sideline this fall, either. He joins senior four-star defensive lineman Raiden Cook, a top-200 overall prospect who’s committed to Houston. Senior three-star wide receiver Kaegan Morton is another name to know on the Eagles’ roster.

Barbers Hill is scheduled to begin its 2026 season on Aug. 28 against Aldine Nimitz. The addition of Babin under center will make the Eagles a tough out this fall. The Massey Ratings predict a 9-1 regular season for the program in Mont Belvieu.
Babin is the No. 346 overall prospect and No. 25 QB in the 2027 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 47 senior prospect in the Lone Star State.
