BEST BET: Predators Look To End Six-Game Slide Tonight In Ottawa

by

LAS VEGAS — We have 11 games on the card tonight, and I’m going to make it two straight winning nights after delivering the Under in last night’s Western Conference showdown in Vegas. I promised you the Golden Knights and Stars would land south of the posted Over/Under, and sure enough it fell 3-2, one goal under the total.

Tonight we have some intriguing games, but the one I’m most interested in takes place in Ottawa, where the Nashville Predators are in town to face the Senators.

Let’s do a deep dive into this one:

WHY NASHVILLE: The Predators haven’t won since Nov. 23 and continue to pine over their struggles despite landing two of the biggest offseason acquisitions in Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault. A six-game losing skid is not ideal for a team playing the fourth road game in eight nights, but confidence in the locker room has the Predators believing there is light at the end of the tunnel.

WHY OTTAWA: The Senators continue their four-game homestand and have won two in a row in Ottawa after closing their last homestand with a 4-3 win over Calgary and opening their current one with a 2-1 victory over Detroit. This is a team that opened the season winning five of six in Ottawa and is looking to get back to owning home ice.

All betting lines are from Bet365 and are subject to change. Hockey is a difficult sport to predict so please gamble responsibly.

THE PICK: SENATORS -120 — Ottawa has a chance to boost morale by catching the road-weary Predators, who bring a close to a four-game road trip tonight. They made stops in Minnesota, Toronto and Montreal and now finish in Ottawa. Adding to their tired legs is the fact losses 2-4 during the six-game slide went to overtime. At 7-14-6, the Predators aren’t threatening many teams. David Perron leads all players in career games played (56), in goals (10), in assists (21), and in points (31) against the Preds, so if you want to add a bonus player prop to the mix, there’s some incentive. Sens win tonight.
