It is a debate that pops up every now and then. Who is the best quarterback of the 21st century? There are great candidates. Florida’s Tim Tebow. Auburn’s Cam Newton. USC’s Matt Leinart. LSU’s Joe Burrow. But Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt says his pick is Texas Longhorns Legend Vince Young.
Klatt put together his All-Century team for “The Joel Klatt Show: A College Football Podcast.” The former Colorado QB went through every position and named the best from the past 25 years. He narrowed the list down to five national champion winners: Tim Tebow of Florida, Cam Newton of Auburn, Joe Burrow of LSU, Matt Leinart of USC and Vince Young of Texas.
Ultimately, Klatt picked VY.
“The pick is Vince Young. If I had one game. And I had to get a quarterback from the last 25 years to go and play that game, my All-Century quarterback is Vince Young.” – Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt
Klatt, who played and lost 70-3 against Young’s Texas team in the Big 12 championship game, believes the UT hero stands above the rest.
“This guy was unbelievable. He went 30-2 as a starting quarterback. That undefeated season in ’05 for a national championship was remarkable. There were times he had to put that team completely on his back. I think about a game they were down at halftime at Oklahoma State.” – Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt

It kinda boils down to, if you have to win one game, who do you want starting. For Klatt, the answer is easy.
