The Bethune-Cookman Wildcats will look for a new women’s basketball coach.
On March 14, the university announced a separation with Janell Crayton Del Rosario after five seasons. She posted a 48-101 record, including a 32-58 mark in the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

The move comes four days after B-CU’s 2025-26 campaign ended with a 55-52 loss to archrival Florida A&M in the second round of the SWAC Tournament. The Wildcats finished 7-26.
“We are grateful to Coach Crayton Del Rosario for five years of leadership, dedication, and service to our women’s basketball student-athletes and university,” Bethune-Cookman Vice President for Athletics Reggie Theus said in a statement.
“Coach Crayton Del Rosario has made meaningful contributions to our women’s basketball program, and we sincerely appreciate the time, energy, and commitment invested in developing our young people both on and off the court. We wish her continued success in the future.”
Crayton Del Rosario arrived in 2021 and oversaw Bethune-Cookman’s transition to the SWAC.

From an overall record standpoint, her best season in Daytona Beach was 2023-24, when the Wildcats went 15-16.
Crayton Del Rosario, a 2006 graduate of Davidson, formerly worked as an assistant at Kennesaw State, Hampton, UNC Asheville, William and Mary, Colgate, Oberlin and Oglethorpe.
B-CU will begin a national search for the program’s next head coach immediately.
“This was a thoughtful decision made with the long-term success of our program in mind,” Theus said. “Our priorities remain: building a championship culture, providing an outstanding experience for our student-athletes, and positioning Bethune-Cookman Athletics for sustained success.”
