
The Colorado Buffaloes will begin the 2025 college football season in prime time. On Friday, the Big 12 announced that the Buffs will host the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Friday, Aug. 29. It will be one of two Friday night games to open the season for the Big 12 on that night, the Baylor Bears will also host the Auburn Tigers.
The Buffs and head coach Deion Sanders will have another Friday night game when they travel to Houston, Texas, to take on the Cougars to open up Big 12 play. In total there will be 10 games played on Friday night in the upcoming season. The two Friday night matchups will sandwich the Buffs’ Week 2 matchup against Delaware when the Blue Hens visit Folsom Field.
Colorado only played one game on Friday night in 2024 when they blanked the Oklahoma State Cowboys at Folsom Field, 52-0 in late November to close out the regular season. CU also opened the season with a Thursday game against North Dakota State on Aug. 29.
