The Big Ten announced its weekly swimming and diving honors.

Big Ten Women’s Swimmer of the Week

Anna Peplowski, Indiana

Sr. – Germantown Hills, Ill. – Metamora – Major: Sport Marketing and Management

  • Swept individual events at No. 10 Louisville
  • Won 200-yard freestyle in NCAA A Cut time of 1:42.41, setting a pool record at the Ralph Wright Natatorium
  • Won the 100 free in 47.68, out-touching Louisville All-American Gabi Albiero by seven hundredths
  • Won the 500 free by two seconds in 4:39.26
  • Helped Indiana post an NCAA A Cut time of 3:12.91 in the 400 freestyle relay with the second-fastest split time of 47.16
  • Last Indiana Swimmer of the Week: Mya DeWitt (Jan. 29, 2025)

Big Ten Women’s Diver/Freshman of the Week

Avery Worobel, Purdue

Fr. – Boston, Mass. – Dwight Global – Major: Communication

  • Swept the springboard events at the Big Ten Triple Duals vs. Minnesota and Northwestern
  • Worobel won both events with NCAA Zone Qualifying Scores, breaking Purdue’s freshman record on 1-meter with a score of 334.10
  • Won the 3-meter board with a 354.80
  • Last Purdue Diver of the Week: Daryn Wright (Jan. 29, 2025)
  • Last Purdue Freshman of the Week: Campbell Scofield (Jan. 29, 2025)

 

Swimmer of the Week

Zalán Sárkány, Indiana

Jr. – Budapest, Hungary – Major: Sport Marketing and Management

  • Swept the distance events in a 189.5-110.5 win at No. 11 Louisville
  • Set Ralph Wright Natatorium pool records in the 500-yard freestyle and the 1,000-yard freestyle, winning the 1,000 free in 8:43.28 and the 500 free in 4:15.60
  • Last Indiana Swimmer of the Week: Caspar Corbeau (Jan. 29, 2025)

 

Big Ten Men’s Diver of the Week

YuTong Wang, Minnesota 

So. – Beijing, China – Beijing Dive Club

  • Broke the 3-meter school record in a first-place finish at a triple dual vs. Northwestern and Purdue with a score of 472.05. Wang now holds both the one- and three-meter school records
  • Finished first in the 1-meter with a score of 402.45
  • Last Minnesota Diver of the Week: Drew Bennett (Dec. 11, 2024)

Big Ten Men’s Freshman of the Week

Matt Klinge, Ohio State

West Lafayette, Ind. – Harrison – Major: Sport Industry

  • Helped the Buckeyes to a victory against Pitt
  • Won the 50 freestyle (19.53) and the 100 butterfly (45.81), both are NCAA B Cut times
  • Klinge was also on the winning 200 medley relay team who placed first in 1:24.33
  • Earns his second consecutive Freshman of the Week honor
  • Last Ohio State Freshman of the Week: Matt Klinge (Jan. 29, 2025)
