Indiana football made an emphatic statement in its College Football Playoff Rose Bowl quarterfinal matchup against No. 9 Alabama with a 35-point win over the Crimson Tide.
One week later, the top-seeded Hoosiers are delivering a similar statement in the Peach Bowl against No. 5 Oregon at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Three defensive turnovers and three touchdown passes from Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Fernando Mendoza have Curt Cignetti’s squad 30 minutes away from playing in the CFP Championship, as the Hoosiers led the Ducks 35-7 at halftime.

It didn’t take long for the Hoosiers to get their scoring party going, as D’Angelo Ponds came up with a pick-6 on the game’s first play from scrimmage. Mendoza led four touchdown drives on Indiana‘s five ensuing possessions.
The Hoosiers cashed in on another Ducks’ turnover just before halftime with a 2-yard touchdown pass from Mendoza to Elijah Sarratt. Mendoza’s second touchdown pass of the first half gave the Hoosiers their fifth different touchdown score of the first half.
