One of the best players to ever play in the NHL, Sidney Crosby, doesn’t have a good time playing against the Chicago Blackhawks historically. As a lifelong Pittsburgh Penguins player, he has had many games against every team in the NHL, excluding the more recent expansions.
Out of every team the Penguins’ captain has played over his 20 year career, he has the lowest points-per-game against the Blackhawks, and it isn’t particularly close. Besides the Vegas Golden Knights (10 points in 11 games), Seattle Kraken (6 points in 6 games), and Utah HC (1 points in 1 game), Crosby has played the least amount of games and has the third fewest goals as well as the fewest assists and points against the Blackhawks.
Crosby has scored seven goals and recorded 14 points in 19 games. That’s 0.74 points-per-game. His career points-per-game is 1.25 and he’s never had a season where he hasn’t been over 1.00.

Playing the Blackhawks definitely doesn’t help get him over the two times he plays them per season, but he does dominate many other teams to make up for it. The only other teams Crosby doesn’t have a point-per-game against are the Dallas Stars (22 points in 24 games), Edmonton Oilers (22 points in 24 games), St. Louis Blues (22 points in 24 games), and San Jose Sharks (22 points in 23 games). The list is that short and that impressive. 99% of players would love to have those be the best stat lines against teams, never mind the worst.
Crosby has yet to face the Blackhawks this season and oddly enough, the Blackhawks and Penguins play both of their games in April one after another in the 77th and 78th game of the season. With where the Penguins are battling for a playoff spot, Chicago may be the last team, even during a rebuild, that Crosby wants potentially key games against late in this season.
