Bogdan Zverev Says ‘Roll Tide’ With 2026 Verbal To Alabama
NEW COMMIT: The University of Alabama has secured another verbal commitment for the 2026-27 season and beyond from Bogdan Zverev of Sarasota, Florida.
He will join Jack Grimley in Tuscaloosa as a member of the Crimson Tide’s Class of 2030.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“I’m super excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Alabama! I want to thank all of my family, coaches, and friends who believed in me and supported me along the way. A huge thank you to the coaching staff at Alabama for giving me this wonderful opportunity. ROLL TIDE”
Zverev, who does his club swimming with Sarasota Sharks, capped off his long course season at Florida Senior Championships where he won the 200m fly and 400m IM. He placed seventh in the 400m IM at Southern Zone Seniors back in February before going on to place sixth in the 200 fly at Florida Spring Championships.
His best times include:
- 200 IM – 1:49.33
- 400 IM – 3:55.56
- 200 free – 1:39.27
- 500 free – 4:26.79
- 100 fly – 50.53
- 200 fly – 1:49.33
- 100 back – 49.85
- 200 back – 1:49.92
Currently a junior at Sarasota High School, Zverev earned bronze in the 200 IM at the 2023 Florida 3A State Championships, also placing 11th in the 100 fly. He took fifth in the 200 IM at the state meet during his freshman season.
Alabama finished seventh at the 2024 Southeastern Conference Championships.
