Both Gonzaga Programs to Play Michigan State in Palm Springs

by

Per CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, both Gonzaga Bulldogs basketball programs will take on the Michigan State Spartans on Dec. 19 at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs, California. The men’s matchup will honor Naismith Hall of Fame coaches Mark Few and Tom Izzo.

The last time these two went to battle was on the USS Abraham Lincoln at the North Island Naval Air Station in San Diego, California, in 2022. Gonzaga won in a low-scoring affair 64-63. In their all-time history, Michigan State leads the series 4-2.

Here is how the Zags’ potential 2026-27 non-conference schedule looks, with not all dates/locations/times finalized:

vs. Purdue Boilermakers (Nov. 2 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada)

vs. Michigan State Spartans (Dec. 19 at Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs, California)

at Kentucky Wildcats (Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky)

vs. UCLA Bruins (To be determined)

vs. Oregon Ducks (Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington)

at Creighton Bluejays (Chi Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska)

Players Era Festival (MGM Grand Garden Arena/Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada)

The matchup with the Big Ten Conference’s Oregon Ducks is on the fence, either taking place in the 2026-27 or 2027-28 season.
