Brad Lambert Checks Back Into The Lineup As The Jets Host The Islanders In The Final Game Before 4 Nations Face-Off

The Winnipeg Jets will host the New York Islanders in their final game before the 4 Nations Face-Off, and they will do so with one of their top prospects, Brad Lambert.

Lambert will replace Parker Ford in the lineup tonight and will play his fifth game of the season.

The Jets are rolling at the moment, winning their last seven games, and quite a few of them convincingly. Their lead in the Central Division has grown to 10 points, and their lead in the Western Conference is now seven points.

The Islanders come into tonight’s game nearly as hot as the Jets have been, winning eight of their last nine games and had their own seven-game winning streak. The Islanders are extremely banged up at the moment but have continued to find ways to win. Mathew Barzal, Semyon Valmarov, Noah Dobson, Mike Reilly, Scott Mayfield and and Ryan Pulock are all on the injured reserve or the long-term injury reserve.

Their recent string of wins has brought them back into the playoff picture, but they are still on the outside looking in. They are four points back of the Detroit Red Wings who sit in the second wild card spot but would have to jump the Boston Bruins and the Columbus Blue Jackets in the process.

Ilya Sorokin and Connor Hellebuyck have been two of the hottest goaltenders in the NHL throughout the last few weeks. In Sorokin’s last six starts, he’s allowed two or fewer goals in each start and has won his last seven games.
