Brent Crews gaining ground on Chase bubble, nearing first O’Reilly win

by

Brent Crews is very close to entering victory lane in the NASCAR O’Reilly Series. Crews nearly won the O’Reilly Series race at Rockingham Speedway; however, a poor two-tire pit strategy and a flat tire ruined his day. The 18-year-old then took the lead at Bristol Motor Speedway with under 10 laps to go, but made a mistake running the top lane.

Crews now sits 18th in the point standings with a 75-point deficit to the Chase bubble. There is plenty of time for the Joe Gibbs Racing driver to make up ground to earn a spot in the Chase; however, he is getting close to his first victory. The speed from Crews at 18 years old has been incredible since he was cleared from his age restrictions.

If Crews and the No. 19 team can continue running well, the sky is the limit in 2026. There will be many wins in the driver of the No. 19 car’s future if he can develop into a championship contender. For now, Crews has to get his first victory, and it could be coming soon with NASCAR heading to Kansas Speedway this weekend.
