Brescia University’s women’s basketball team is the No. 15 seed in the Cramer Quadrant in the 2026 NAIA National Tournament, starting next week at different sites. Brescia will travel to Fort Wayne, Ind. to take on the host team, No. 2 University of Saint Francis, on March 13.
Brescia women’s basketball hasn’t reached the NAIA national tournament in 18 years. The Bearcats enter the NAIA nationals with an overall record of 24-7 and a 13-3 River States Conference record.

BU earned the RSC’s second automatic bid by reaching the conference title game. So far this season in 31 games, the Bearcats average 73.5 points per game with a field goal percentage of 45.7%. Defensively, the Bearcats ranked first in the conference in opposing points per game at just 59.4.
Brescia had four River States All-Conference honorees in Cassidy Morris (1st Team), Caroline Lucas (1st Team), Brooklyn Stewart (2nd Team), and Jenna Krampe (3rd Team).
Stewart is scoring 11.5 points and Krampe is scoring 11 points a game, while Krampe is shooting 88% from the free throw line and pulling down 7.9 rebounds a game. Stewart is grabbing 5.5 rebounds a game.
Krampe is a sophomore former standout at Owensboro Catholic. Stewart is also a sophomore standout from Muhlenberg County.

Lucas is a sophomore and former Breckinridge County standout who is scoring 11.3 points a game and hitting 81.5% of her free throws.
Morris is a senior who has scored 8.4 points and pulled down 8.2 rebounds a game. Morris was a standout at Whitesville Trinity.
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) officially announced the teams and bracket for the 2026 NAIA Women’s Basketball Championship First and Second Rounds, presented by Ballogy.
The 64-team bracket will begin with the first and second rounds at host sites nationwide on March 13-14. The 2026 NAIA second round winners will meet in Sioux City, Iowa, at the NAIA Championship final site presented by Bomgaars and Sterling. The 45th annual championship occurs at the Tyson Events Center from March 19-24.
