This week was a special one for the Busch family as Brexton Busch, the son of the late-great Kyle Busch, secured his first racing win since his father’s passing.
Brexton Busch secured his win in a dirt track in Port City, Oklahoma on Friday. On Saturday, he took to X to share a heartfelt message about his father’s passing.

Busch said that he hasn’t wanted to talk about it much but he’s found the last two months “really tough” since his father passed away. But he said that he knows his father would be proud of how he ran his car in his Micro A-Main race on Friday.
“My first win since my dad passed. I don’t like to talk about it much, but the last two months have been really tough. I’m missing my crew chief, my driver coach, my dad, the guy who I looked up to more anyone. I know he would be proud the way I ran the top (much better than him lol) to win my first Micro A-Main at Port City. We love and miss you so much dad,” Brexton wrote.

“Never Felt So Proud”
That sentiment was echoed by Brexton’s mother, Samantha Busch, who took to Instagram and admitted that seeing him race reminded her so much of her late husband.
“First win since losing Kyle. I’ve never felt so proud and so heartbroken at the same time,” Samantha Busch wrote.
“Brexton continues to amaze me with his determination, his resilience, the way he keeps showing up to do what he loves even while carrying so much at such a young age.

“Watching him celebrate all I could think about was Kyle. There was nothing that made him happier than watching Brex race, spending the day tinkering on his car and then being the first one sprinting to Victory Lane with that huge grin on his face.”

Kyle Busch passed away on May 21, leaving behind one of the greatest legacies by any driver in motorsports history.
His No. 8 car at Richard Childress Racing was semi-retired by the team following his passing, but the organization said that they’d hold it in reserve for Brexton should he ever join NASCAR.
