Converting from the spot, he helped the Red Devils draw 2-2 with Cherries in what was his 106th goal for the club. Having joined United in January 2020, the Portuguese has become the heart of United’s midfield, with over 200 goal involvements in 320 appearances across competitions.
And he has continued shattering club records.
Fernandes has now created 101 chances in 28 Premier League games this season; the fewest appearances to reach 100 or more by a Manchester United player in a single campaign on record since 2003-04, ahead of Ryan Giggs in 2006-07 (29).
That’s not it.
With two assists and a goal in the last two matches, he broke the record of Lionel Messi, while also surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo in having 100 or more goals as well as assists for one club across all competitions.
