Bryce Boettcher impresses with game-high 10 tackles in Senior Bowl

by

Bryce Boettcher brings down ball-carriers. It’s what he did to the tune of 136 tackles for the Oregon Ducks in 2025, the sixth-highest mark in the nation.

And it’s exactly what he did in the Senior Bowl on Saturday night, as Boettcher racked up a game-high 10 tackles for the National Team defense. Two players registered five tackles, coming in tied for second behind Beottcher. The former Duck also notched a pass breakup, one of two for the National Team.

Earlier in the week, Boettcher was wreaking havoc in 1-on-1 drills, as he bulled over former Penn State running back Nicholas Singleton who was attempting to block the standout linebacker in pass protection. In warmups for the Senior Bowl, Boettcher demolished former Tennessee running back Star Thomas, causing Thomas to pop up and have some words and a push for Boettcher.

While the former Oregon standout linebacker is seen by many as a late Day 2, early Day 3 pick, Boettcher certainly improved his draft stock during his week in Mobile, AL, during practices and the Senior Bowl game.

If a bona-fide football player who produced on the college field at a high level and then continued to produce against some of the best college football players in the country at the Senior Bowl, pacing the competition in tackles, maybe he’s worth an early-round draft choice.

That’s exactly the category that Boettcher fits into after standing out everywhere he’s played over the last year. He’s a dude, and he showed it during the Senior Bowl.
