
The “Big One,” one of the biggest ever, happened in the NASCAR Cup Series race at Talladega on Lap 115 on April 26.
Nearly the entire field was involved in the crash at the start of Stage 2 in the Jack Link’s 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.

It happened as the field moved into Turn 3, with a massive crash that included Bubba Wallace in the No. 23 23XI Racing Toyota after a bad bump from Ross Chastain.
When the dust cleared, cars that were stopped on pit road with damage included Tyler Reddick, Ty Gibbs, Brad Keselowski, Kyle Larson, Carson Hocevar, Ryan Blaney, Daniel Suarez, William Byron, Kyle Busch, John Hunter Nemechek, Chase Briscoe, Jesse Love and Joey Gase.
A total of 27 cars were involved.

The wreck started when Chastain moved from the inside up into the middle lane behind Wallace, whose car was loose after a bump from Chastain into the corner. About six cars behind slammed into Wallace and a spinning Cole Custer, and the melee was on.
