The Heat reportedly explored including Davion Mitchell in their trade package for Giannis Antetokounmpo, but the Bucks ultimately preferred a different asset, according to The Athletic.
Miami attempted to send Mitchell to Milwaukee in exchange for rookie guard Kasparas Jakucionis.
However, the Bucks placed greater value on Jakucionis because of his long-term team control, as he cannot become a restricted free agent until 2029.
Mitchell, by contrast, has only one season remaining on his current contract.
Jakucionis completed his rookie campaign with the Heat averaging 6.2 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 17.8 minutes per game across 53 appearances.
Meanwhile, Mitchell played a much larger role, starting all 70 games he appeared in and posting averages of 9.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 6.5 assists while logging 28.6 minutes per contest during his age-27 season.
