Butterflyer Aidan Collins Chooses Arizona State For 2027
NEW COMMIT: Arizona State University has landed a new verbal commitment for Fall 2027 from Junior National finalist Aidan Collins of Elk Grove, Calif. Collins is primarily a butterflyer.
He will join Landon Hall in Tempe as a member of the Sun Devils’ Class of 2031.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“I’m thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to Arizona State University! None of this would be possible without my amazing parents – your love, sacrifices, and endless support have made every early morning and late night worth it. Huge thanks to my family, friends, past coach Joey, current coach Scott at DART Swimming, for their guidance and impact on their journey. I also want Coach Herbie, Coach Salo and the rest of the ASU coaching staff for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. FORKS UP!”
Collins, who trains year-round with DART Swimming, finished 10th in the 200 fly and 18th in the 100 fly at Juniors West back in December. He then went on to earn silver in the 100 fly at Walnut Speedo Sectionals a week later. Last summer, he finaled in four events at Sacramento Futures and then competed at Junior Nationals.
His best times include:
- 100 fly – 47.62
- 200 fly – 1:45.18
- 100 breast – 54.98
- 200 breast – 2:02.75
- 200 IM – 1:48.95
Currently a junior at Cosumnes Oaks High School, Collins placed second in the 100 fly and 11th in the 100 breast at the 2025 CIF State Championships after taking third and fourth, respectively, in those events at the CIF San Joaquin Sectionals. He finished 12th in the 100 fly at the state meet during his freshman season.
Arizona State won the Big 12 Conference Championship last season before going on to place sixth at the 2025 NCAA Men’s Championships.
