Caio Borralho: Carlos Prates would be a bad fight for Conor McGregor

by

Rumors of Carlos Prates vs. Conor McGregor caught Caio Borralho by surprise.

When McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC) said that he’s been offered a no name in the UFC’s welterweight division, rumors sparked that it could be Borralho’s Fighting Nerds teammate Prates (23-7 MMA, 6-1 UFC).

However, Prates debunked those claims by saying that he wasn’t told anything by the UFC yet.

“Bro, to be honest with you, I don’t have a clue about any of this,” Borralho told MMA Junkie in an interview facilitated by Stake. “I promise you. I just saw today the poster and I commented, ‘What?’ I sent right away a message to Carlos, but he didn’t respond yet. I said, ‘What the f*ck? Are you fighting McGregor, brother? Bro, if this is true and you didn’t tell me, I’m going to f*cking kill you!’ I’m in the same spot as you guys. I hope from the bottom of my heart this fight is true and they can fight. It’s going to be a freaking good fight, brother. So I’m waiting on that – let’s see.”

If the fight were to come to fruition, Borralho says it would be a bad night for McGregor.

“I don’t think it’s a good fight for McGregor because they’re both southpaws. Carlos is going to kick him a lot in the calf, and he’s got bigger knockout power,” Borralho said. “I don’t think it’s a good fight for McGregor.”
