Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark addressed the narratives about her team after the league warned her about her injury status and her fiery exchange with head coach Stephanie White following the Fever’s rout by the expansion Portland Fire last week.
Clark talked to the media after her team’s 83-71 win over the Atlanta Dream on Thursday, June 4. The Fever (5-4) broke a two-game losing streak as Clark, who vomited at halftime but returned, scored 17 points, with eight assists and seven rebounds.

“I’m gonna say this in the nicest way possible, but hopefully it makes a lot of people just be quiet. I know there’s always going to be conversation, and I totally respect that, and I always understand that, but the sky is not falling,” Clark said after the game.

The Fever did discuss the season so far in a team meeting before the Atlanta game, and posted their best defensive effort of the season.
“I think people always make up stories about where our locker room is, or what my teammates think, or what I think, or what our coaches think. But this group is connected, and we hadn’t been playing our best basketball,” Clark said. “Even though we played it for one game today, that doesn’t mean we are where we want to be. But it also shows what we’re capable of, what we can do, and I think it spoke a lot to the character of the people that we have on our team, in the locker room.”
