Caitlin Clark named WNBA AP Player of the Week

After a WNBA record-setting performance on July 17, Iowa women’s basketball legend and current Indiana Fever star point guard Caitlin Clark has been named Associated Press Player of the Week.

Despite still navigating a minute restrictions, Clark averaged 25 points on 43.5% shooting, along with 7.7 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game across the three contests the Fever played from July 13-19.

Indiana’s 110-107 win over the Seattle Storm on July 17 served as the centerpiece of Clark’s spectacular week. Clark became the first player in both WNBA and NBA history to record 45 points and 10 assists in under 30 minutes played, set a franchise single-game scoring record, and established a new career-high in points scored.
