Indiana has defeated the Connecticut Sun, Atlanta Dream and Dallas Wings over the past three games, going 3-1 in Caitlin Clark’s return.
Clark previously dealt with a groin injury, which led to her missing five straight games. In their most recent matchup against the Sun, an 85-77 win over Connecticut, Clark appears to have re-aggravated the injury.
The Indiana Fever star was ruled out ahead of the game with a right groin injury.
Before the matchup, Liberty head coach Sandy Brondello spoke on the absence of Clark ahead of the WNBA All-Star break.
“You never want to see a player get injured,” Brondello said. “A player like Caitlin — She’s a great player. At All-Star, I’m excited to get to know her a little bit.”

Sandy Brondello later explained that many teams have dealt with nagging injuries this season, including the New York Liberty, who have been working through the absence of Jonquel Jones for quite some time.
“Every team goes through adversity with injuries, and we’re no different this year,” Brondello said. “We’ve managed it as well as we could, but realize how important she is to the way we play… no one compares to Jonquel Jones; she’ll go down as one of the greatest of all time.”
Earlier in the season, Jones was ruled out 4-6 weeks with a right ankle sprain.
Brondello will serve as the All-Star coach for Team Caitlin Clark on July 19.
