The final night of the Minnesota Invitational saw the Cal Golden Bears sweep the team titles behind some fast racing.
Fifth-year Isabelle Stadden lead a 1-2-3 sweep in the 200 backstroke for the Golden Bears. She got to the wall in 1:50.93, finishing ahead of freshmen teammates Finley Anderson (1:54.21) and Adriana Smith (1:56.50).
Freshman Mary-Ambre Moluh continued her breakout college meet. The French Olympian won the 100 free in 48.01 to hold off teammate Morgan Brophy (48.67).
Cal junior Abigail Herscu won the 200 breaststroke in 2:08.83 ahead of teammates Leah Polonsky (2:09.73) and Alicia Henry (2:09.77).
The Bears also went 1-2-2 in the 200 fly with Lilou Ressencou (1:56.17), Lizzy Cook (1:56.20) and Ava Chavez (1:57.39) all earning B cuts.
Cal graduate student Maya Geringer won the 1650 free in 15:53.92 to hold off Minnesota senior Eliot Kennedy (16:08.24), both earning NCAA B cuts.
Moluh, Stadden, Polonsky and Brophy won the 400 free relay in 3:11.76, an NCAA A cut.
In the men’s meet, Cal sophomore Keaton Jones broke 1:40 in the 200 backstroke to win the race in 1:39.76. He went 1-2 with Humberto Najera (1:40.49). Harvard senior Anthony Rincon was third in 1:41.37.
Graduate student Destin Lasco led a 1-2-3-4-5 sweep in the 100 free. He finished in 42.59, ahead of Nans Mazellier (42.74), Nikolas Antonio (42.81), Samuel Quarles (43.08) and Trent Frandson (43.13), all finishing with NCAA B cuts.
In the men’s 1650, Cal’s Matthew Chai won in 14:49.18 to finish well ahead of the field. Denver’s Joe Hancock was second in 15:07.52. Both were NCAA B cuts.
Cal freshman Yamato Okadome won the 200 breast in 1:52.40 ahead of teammate Hank Rivers (1:52.93) and UNLV grad student Daniel Nicusan (1:53.65), all in B cuts.
Minnesota freshman Jacob Johnson won the 200 fly in 1:42.51 to hold off Cal grad student Frank Applebaum (1:42.78) and Harvard’s David Schmitt (1:43.72), all B cuts.
