Calls Mount for Indiana Fever to Sign Chennedy Carter After Season-Ending Injury News originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Indiana Fever currently have a 17-14 record during the 2025 WNBA season. They are sitting in fifth place in the league standings, just 2.5 games back from home-court advantage in the playoffs.

Star point guard Caitlin Clark has only played in 13 games this year for the Fever, but the team has stayed afloat, going 9-9 without her in the lineup. This is largely because Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald have been able to fill the void in her absence.
McDonald was averaging 9.8 points and 4.7 assists per game, and Colson was chipping in 2.4 points and 2.0 assists per contest. Unfortunately, the Fever announced on Friday that both players suffered season-ending injuries on Thursday against the Phoenix Mercury.

Indiana Fever Fans Call for Team to Sign Chennedy Carter After Sydney Colson, Aari McDonald Injuries
Indiana is looking to make a deep playoff run in 2025, which was already going to be tough without Clark, a First-Team All-WNBA player, available or 100% healthy. Now, with two more guards lost for the season, the Fever desperately need to add a player who can handle the ball.
One potential option would be Chennedy Carter, who has played four seasons with the Atlanta Dream, Los Angeles Sparks and Chicago Sky. She averaged 17.5 points per game in Chicago last season, which has Fever fans calling for the team to sign her immediately.

Chennedy Carter’s Career and History With Caitlin Clark
Carter, despite her strong performance last year, was not signed by a WNBA team ahead of the 2025 campaign. She spent this season playing professionally in Mexico, where she continued to prove her scoring prowess, before allegedly teasing a WNBA return in June.

A big part of her being unsigned has to do with a history of reported behavioral issues, as well as a series of on-court spats. Last season, she made headlines when she knocked over Caitlin Clark on a hard foul away from the ball.
She also criticized Clark and questioned what she brought to the game outside of three-point shooting (via Bleacher Report). However, Carter would be the perfect addition to the Fever at this point, as fans recognize her toughness, scoring ability and lockdown defense.
