WILMINGTON — Campbell University’s women’s basketball team came back from a halftime deficit for the second time in three days to beat UNC-Wilmington, 54-52, Sunday afternoon at Trask Coliseum.
The Camels (17-9, 10-3) scored 32 points in the second half, outscoring the Seahawks (6-18, 2-11) by 10 to erase an eight-point halftime deficit.

Jasmine Nivar led the Camels with 13 points and eight rebounds, while Rori Cox paced UNCW with 14 points.
CU made a comeback in the third quarter, using a 7-0 run to cut the deficit to just one, 36-35, with 2:38 to play in the frame. A layup from Nivar gave the Camels the lead, 37-36, with 1:18 left in the quarter. Cox answered with two straight three-pointers to give UNCW a 42-37 lead entering the final frame.
Campbell retook the lead with a three-pointer from Jasmine Felton at the 7:18 mark of the fourth quarter, 44-42.
Felton’s day ended with 10 points and eight rebounds, and Gianni Boone contributed 11 points. Ciara Alexander came off the bench and brought down 11 rebounds.

UNCW responded once again to take the lead, but Olivia Tucker stole and inbounds pass and made a fast-break layup with 2:54 to play.
Later in the quarter, Tucker stole the ball again and pushed it ahead to Nivar, who was fouled on a layup attempt. She made both free throws to put the Camels up by four, 53-49, with 12 seconds to play, Campbell’s biggest lead of the day.
McCall King made a three-pointer for UNCW to move within one, but Felton went 1-of-2 at the line with 0.6 seconds left, and the Seahawks did not get off a final shot.
The Fighting Camels next take on Elon Friday at 7 p.m. on the road. The game will be streamed on FloCollege.
