MADISON – The Wisconsin men’s basketball team has lost its first player to the transfer portal.

Camren Hunter, a 6-foot-2 junior guard, has entered the portal, Badgers coach Greg Gard confirmed Wednesday.

Hunter came to Wisconsin last spring after two standout seasons at Central Arkansas. He started all 60 games he played there, averaging 15.5 points, five rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. As a sophomore, he averaged 16.9 points, five rebounds and 3.9 assists per contest for the Bears.

His time at Wisconsin was hampered by injury and illness as he was a regular on the Big Ten availability report. He played in 11 games and scored three points. His most extensive playing time was 8 minutes in a 76-53 win over Detroit on Dec. 22.
