Canadian Coach Brad Dingey Returns Home with Pointe-Claire Aquatic Club

Former Swimming Canada head coach Brad Dingey has been hired this week to head Pointe-Claire Aquatic Club, a return to his home country.

Dingey has been abroad since 2022, when he was hired to be the head coach of the Singapore Swimming Association’s National Training Center. He previously led Swimming Canada’s High-Performance Centre in Vancouver, starting in 2020.

Dingey, 54, had been the director of HPC Victoria, which closed in 2020. He took that job in 2015, taking over for Ryan Mallette. Dingey stayed at Victoria until January 2022, then moved to Singapore in September 2022. He worked with swimmers like Brent Hayden, Emily Overholt and Markus Thormeyer in Vancouver, while he was the direct coach for Tokyo Olympians Fan Hua-Li and Kate Sanderson.

After years of success in Western Canada, his focus shifts to Quebec to a club that has produced Edouard Fullum-Huot, Patrick Hussey and Aela Janvier.

“His skillset and values make him a welcomed addition to the Aquatic Club’s team of passionate and experienced coaches, whose hard work and commitment over the past few years have demonstrated their desire to make the Pointe-Claire swimming program stand out in Quebec, across the country and on the international stage,” the club wrote in a press release.

The native of Stettler, Alberta, has been a coach for more than two decades. He spent 11 years as the head coach of the Pacific Sea Wolves Swim Club in South Surrey/White Rock. He also worked at the University of British Columbia for four years.
