Celebrate Tom Izzo’s historic Big Ten wins mark with this awesome commemorative poster

Mr. March has passed The General!

With Michigan State’s come-from-16-points-down victory over Illinois on Saturday night, coach Tom Izzo broke the career record for Big Ten victories with his 354th. The record for a men’s basketball coach had stood since 2000, when Bob Knight’s 29-year tenure ended at Indiana.

The Detroit Free Press and the Lansing State Journal have crafted commemorative posters to celebrate Izzo’s milestone.

The posters are printed on high-quality, acid-free art paper and start at $15.25, plus shipping and handling. Upgrade options include framed copies and backgrounds of canvas, acrylic, metal or wood through the USA TODAY Store.

The Free Press and State Journal posters have similar looks and feels but feature different headlines and different photos from Izzo’s 354th victory, in which the Spartans rallied at Illinois, 79-65, with a 15-0 run over the final 8½ minutes.

Afterward, the accolades rushed in for Izzo, now 354-173 (.672) in the Big Ten over 30 seasons.

“There is no better coach or leader in this game,” ESPN analyst Jay Bilas posted on X. “That Tom Izzo is the standard in Big Ten basketball just confirms what we knew all along … Izzo is among the true greats this game was ever known. Congrats and RESPECT.”

Now you can own a piece of Michigan State hoops history. To order a poster, go to usatodaystore.com and search Izzo.
